Slimming World
First week losses - make me feel better please....
lostfairydust · 17/01/2017 16:48
I've honestly stuck to plan but only lost a pound
It seems hardly anything compared to the losses in group of 5-7lbs first week...
Anyone the same????
Notreallyhappy · 17/01/2017 17:19
I did that when I first did slimming world.
Take into account that you might be holding fluid from hormones toilet weight or from carbs.
Don't be disheartened... no two people are the same.
My weight yesterday was 12.052, today ito was 12.002... 5lb of nothing something.
Weight loss isn't an exact science.

4lbs my first week, disappointing because I have about 10stone to lose and last time I did SW I lost 10 in my first week.
Are you hormonal? That can mess up your loss this week but you should make up for it next week
Do you measure things for HEX and syns?
ohmygodyouguys · 17/01/2017 18:01
I only lost half a pound my first week. Went up to 2 the following week though. My biggest ever loss has been 3.5lb. Try not to be too disheartened and stick at it, it might just catching up next week.

Not Slimming World but I had a similar experience last week and felt really disheartened. I have thought it through though and know (having been a yoyo dieter all my life) just how weird it can be. I kept a track of my weight loss on a diet I did ten years ago and when I looked at it the other day it comforted me a lot because I could see I had weeks early on where I lost little or nothing but overall I stuck at it and reached my goal. Keep going, it will work if you're doing the right thing.
OwlinaTree · 17/01/2017 18:24
I only lost 1.5 in week one, but lost 2.5 the next couple of weeks. It always takes two weeks for me to reap the benefit or feel the effects of a blowout.
dannyglick · 17/01/2017 18:28
OP, it might just be that overindulgence from the week before you started SW was still catching up with you.
Bet you have a good loss your second week.
Don't be disheartened, as that could mean you don't stick with the plan.
And my SW consultant always tells members, when they feel fed up with one pound losses: one pound a week is four stone in a year.
lostfairydust · 17/01/2017 18:28
Thanks all
I'm measuring hexs and syns
I'm on a medication that has contributed to the weight gain so worried I won't lose until that is changed.
Don't think I'm hormonal but medication has messed that up too
Zumbarunswim · 17/01/2017 18:33
Do you drink Diet Coke? I had a very good loss the week I gave up Diet Coke.
TallulahBetty · 17/01/2017 18:35
I'm a very firm believer in it being a 2-week cycle. And I'm weigh lady at our group so I see this time and time again. Hang on in there and next week you'll see a bigger loss
lostfairydust · 17/01/2017 19:55
The two week cycle is interesting and might be the case but will also drop the Diet Coke too... I'm quite addicted so it's not a bad thing...
Bubbles07 · 18/01/2017 10:38
I'm on week 2 now and lost 2.5lbs in my first week. Lots of new starters in my group and losses ranged from 0.5lb to 7.5lb. I was hoping for a bit more as a boost in week 1 but I know that 2.5lb a week would be a good, steady loss if I can keep it up.
Good luck for a bigger loss in week 2.
