Ok...I'm attempting to do SW one red one green day.

Tomorrow green day:
Scrambled egg (no milk)
Baked beans

Pasta
Tinned tomatoes
Red pepper
Onions

Sweet potato, chilli, red pepper soup (contains a tin of coconut milk 300ml serves 4)
Mini naan bread (maybe if syn allows?)

Muller light yoghurt
(Is tinned fruit allowed? Unfortunately in syrup?)

Wish me luck, thanks for replies in advance Smile

firstly welcome!

Secondly, SW doesn't have green and red anymore, it's Extra Easy and Speed Protein. You can have all different foods in EE but only 1 each HEXA and HEXB. SP you have Speed foods (most but not all fruit and veg, not bananas, blueberries, sweetcorn or peas off the top of my head) and protein so lean meat and fish

I checked the syns on tinned pears as an example, in juice it's 2 syns per 100g, in syrup its 3 syns per 100g

Oh and on SP you get 2 HEXB and 1 HEXA

I thought they had abandoned red/ green days?

If they haven't, then you should have some milk or cheese or other calcium type food as a 'healthy extra', they used to allow two HE on red/green - one for calcium and one for roughage. Assuming that is still the case you could have two slices of wholemeal from a small loaf or one from a large loaf with you curry instead of the naan which are quite high in syns. You can also have milk in your scrambled eggs.

You can't have tinned fruit in syrup without synning it but you could chop up some fresh fruit and have a huge bowlful with free yoghurt on for 'free'.

I don't think you have enough food here BTW!

If it was me I'd have scrambled eggs with milk (HE A), tomatoes, mushrooms and spinach, maybe with a slice of bread from small loaf (half HE B)

Pasta with quorn mince, tomatoes, courgettes, onions, peppers

The soup with other half of HEb (small slice brown bread) and a large fruit salad with yoghurt.

  1. Did you use butter or anything to scramble the egg?
  2. Pasta - is that just dried pasta cooked in water? If so, that's free
  3. Did you use any oil to cook the veg for the pasta?
  4. Were there any other ingredients in the soup that might have syns?
  5. Coconut milk - blimey, lots of syns !! (I don't like it so didn't realise)
  6. I don't eat naan bread either so not sure how many syns
  7. Tinned fruit needs to be synned, as does cooked, pureed, etc. fruit.

Only fresh fruit is free

Good idea to plan your day's food in advance - I try and do the same (not always successfully though !)

Good luck :)
