Hi everyone, I'm just starting on my journey to losing 4 stone this year and hopefully finally learning to love myself! Has anyone got any tips at all? Especially based around what to opt for when eating out? If there are any chains with good options on the menu, lunch or tea??? Im a veggie just to make things more awkward!

Good luck OP. I'd be interested in any suggestions too.

If you look at the end of this download it has some ideas about the syns of various foods. I'm still learning so can't give any good hints. My MIL likes Harvester as she can get grilled meat and jacket potato with a salad. Not helpful for veggies though (I'm veggie too).

Thanks I'll take a look

If out shopping for example, I will always go for a jacket potato (something I would have previously avoided like the plague!) or sushi, but otherwise plump for a tomato sauce pasta and use my hexb as oil, and assume worst case scenario for syns. Otherwise I'll go for a steak with salad (no dressing) and a jacket potato if possible. I do the same thing for oil in this case. Wagamamas have firecracker prawns which is another go to for me as IIRC it's about 14 syns?

Go for simple options - grilled meats, jacket potato, boiled or roasted veg etc as these are easy to measure.

Re-read your post - ignore the grilled meats!

Good idea with the sushi! I worry that they will add loads of oil when baking a potato?! But I guess it's still better than a lot of alternatives!
