Dessert for entertaining

I'm having a few friends round for food and drinks in a couple of weeks. I've planned a lovely syn free meal, so I can have a few drinks. I'd love to do a dessert which is very low or even no syn. Any ideas?

Strawberries and blueberries. Cream for guests.

Pimms jelly.

Fruit/berries, meringues, cream. Then you could just have fruit and a meringue. Meringues are surprisingly low calorie but not sure about syns as never done SW.

I'd go for a meringue nest (3 syns each for sainsburys ready made ones), berries and some squirty cream on top (1 syn if using light cream). It's what I have for dessert 3-4 times a week, it's so nice!

Meringue fruit and cream. Sounds great. I think they make an Eton mess? I could possibly just have half s meringue in that case.

Thanks for the ideas.

How about fresh fruit salad?

I made SW's Chocolate Banana Tiramisu for a special dinner last night and it was lovely. It was 3.5 syns for a large portion.

Honeyrider
Could I have the recipe please.

Chocolate Banana Tiramisu

Serves 4: 3.5 syns per serving

Ready in 25 mins plus chilling

200g quark
200g fat free natural fromage frais
1 teasp vanilla extract
3 tbsp sweetener
150mls made-up strong black coffee cooled
12 sponge fingers, broken into chunks
4 ripe bananas though 2 large ones was enough for me
2 level tsp cocoa powder to dust

Method

Beat the quark, fromage frais and vanilla extract in a bowl, then add the sweetener and stir well.

Pour the cooled coffee into a shallow bowl. Dip the sponge fingers briefly into the coffee and use half of them to add a layer to four individual dessert bowls.

Top with half of the quark mixture and add a layer using up all the sliced banana. I used half and added the other half for the next layer.

Add another layer using up the remaining sponge fingers and top with the rest of the quark mixture. Cover and chill for 3 - 4 hours.

Dust with the cocoa powder and serve.

Next time I might add 15 mls of tia maria and add 1/2 syn per portion.

I got the recipe from SW's find your sunshine booklet.

Fruit in jelly looks quite fancy in tall glasses or vodka jelly always get the party going Wink

My group had a taster night recently and someone made prosecco jellies, they were delicious and I'm hoping to get the recipe from her next time she's in class. I thin she got the recipe from the little book of summer recipes.

I was going to say Eton Mess too.

I make proper Eton mess with raspberries, strawbs, blueberries or whatever with cream and meringues for everyone else, and I have one meringue nest (2.5 syns) with 0% fat Total yoghurt and the berries.

Thank you

Sounds delicious.
