Hex A and Hex B

Evening all
I'm new to SW and wanted to ask If I have to eat all of my healthy A and B portions every day? I've only managed 1/2 hex B so far today (and 6 Syns), so a bit concerned. Have eaten loads, but all free food.
Thanks

Hi there. Both hex options are important for your calcium and fibre so I would make sure to eat them just to make sure that your body is getting all of the nutrients it needs!

I struggle with hexa as not a milk drinker, so I tend to just have 30g grated cheese. I add it to salads, pasta, jacket potatoes. If I'm having mash, I use light philli instead of butter.

On days I'm not having bread or Ryvita, I'll have an Alpen bar (counts as a speed food if you just have one) as a snack at night when I usually get the munchies.

Thanks both, I looked back at my book to check too as don't want to scupper my own weight loss.
I'm planning my meals for next few days and will be able to incorporate them in, I just didn't want to be scoffing hifi bars and a (mini) block of cheese for the sake of it.

I'd like to know the answer to this too. I use alpro almond milk and you can have an entire carton... I use it for porridge and teas and coffees through the day. I don't know how you could have the whole carton- I manage three in the week.

Leslie, I'm going to ask at my wi on Wednesday, might start a discussion if nothing else! But it makes sense what two shoes and Lemony are saying, do you like minibabybel? Maybe they could help alongside alpro almond milk?

I do like them but our leader said you can't half Hex As?

Geepee71 · 02/05/2016 21:23

Oh I don't know then Leslie, I've didn't know that about HexA and not being able to split them! Another question for group to answer! Grin

I was told by my consultant that it doesn't matter so much if you don't have all your HEA. If you don't have all your HEB then it's counted as Syns as its worked out that you need that amount in order to get the full fibre amount.

You can split both your HEX as long as you weigh/measure and split I right.

Leslieknope45 · 02/05/2016 21:57

Ah for such an easy diet this bit is fairly complicated!

Geepee71 · 02/05/2016 22:05

Thanks demented!

You can split your HEA, so you could have half the almond milk allowance and half the cheese allowance in the same day. Same with HEB - you could have 1 slice wholemeal bread from small loaf plus 1 Hi Fi bar.
