Do you have to have at least 5 syns every day?

Today I had 2.5 and yesterday 1, it seems silly eating rubbish just to make up syn points.

I don't eat my syns every day and you don't have to eat silly rubbish. I usually use my syns on mayonaise or gravy and that's it. I usually only have about 10-15 syns over the whole week

Have you thought about using them for sauces/butter/nice things in proper food (eg leaving the "tails" on bacon rather than having medallions is 2 syns per slice)

You could also have an extra slice of bread or similar (so two large wholemeal slices rather than small would use 6 syns)

You may find your weight loss is slower if you don't have the syns.

Personally, I go for 105 over the week - the weekends use up far more than the week days - so I may have 30 on a Sunday (yorkshire puddings, proper gravy etc) but pull it back in the week.

I really wish they would give a definitive answer to the whole syn issue. My consultant has said I need to try to keep mine under 10 a day ( fair enough, I don't have much to lose to get to target and am struggling). Other people report that their consultants have said they MUST eat all of their 15 syns - to the extent that my friend was told if she hadn't had them she should have some chocolate or something like that to make them up!!
