Carrot and swede mash

Wondering what the consensus on adding butter to mashed carrot and swede (free and speed) is, would it still be speed even though it now contains syns - obviously no longer free?
I had mine without and it was bland mush compared to the delicious buttery delight the rest of the family had Envy

Try adding pepper

I added plenty of salt and pepper and some chilli flakes but it just didn't do it for me. Never mind!

I always add butter and a metric fuckton of pepper. I don't always count the syns for the butter; that's what syns are there for. It's all in the pepper, anyway. You need to put too much in, then put a little more. It's not actually too much once you come to eat it.

Bastard DH doesn't like swede so I don't get this very often, but I used to put a layer of this in between the meat and potato in my cottage pie. That way you get the extra speed (and flavour) but still get a proper potato topping.
