Breakfast confusion - help a newbie please!

Just joined today and bit confused about breakfast - normally have 2 Weetabix and skimmed milk. But Weetabix (normal type) aren't listed as Healthy Extra - they seem to have a Syn value. Bit surprised by that. Have I understood that correctly?

Also I want to work out Syns of Activia yoghurts and Kelloggs marshmallow squares bar - once I am added to the online group, will there be some sort of calculator to work it out? Unless anyone knows Syns off the top of their heads?

Lots to get my head around!

Hi - once you join the online but you'll be able to put in the foods you're eating in Syns Online. It will tell you how much syns are in each thing.

iklboo · 16/04/2016 13:01

Kellogg's Marshmallow squares are 6 syns each, by the way.

iklboo · 16/04/2016 13:02

Activias are around 3.5 syns unless you get the fat free ones, then they're free.

If you can't get on the calculator the very very general rule of thumb is roughly 20 cals is 1 syn

2 Weetabix are a HEB

Here's the weetabix info from online calculator.

2 weetabix are a HEXB. It's only if you've already had a HEXB that they'd count as syns.

It's 2 for a healthy extra or a syn value if you use your b choice elsewhere...or want more than 2.

Syns are in your book, on the website or on the app...you should have a PIN to sign in online, it should be in your book at the back with all your personal details - though for some reason some people write it on the card instead.

Thank you all - very helpful! I just took another look at my book and I see that 2 Weetabix is a HEB. I was just looking at the list of fibre cereals and I didn't realise it was on the next page under 'Crispbread and cereals' - doh. I don't think the consultant has made my PIN active yet (only joined this morning) so will try online again tomorrow. Thanks again for the advice and help!
