Slimming World
5th week on slimming world and ruined everything.
Shootingstar2289 · 14/02/2016 16:22
Hi,
I am on my 5th weight on slimming world and got my stone award last Monday 😄
Anyway. Since then I have done really well following he plan up until yesterday. My son came down with a bug. I didn't have time to cook so ate a shop bought sandwich from Asda when I nipped out to get a few bits and ice cream.
Today I've eaten chocolate, crisps and meringues. Oh and a bit more ice cream.
I feel terrible. Both guilty and fat & bloated.
Dreading weigh in tomorrow. What shall I do to recover? I expect a maintain or gain obviously but I mean for the following week.
Tip?

Get back on track. This seems huge, but it isn't. Don't let the idea that you've "ruined everything" sabotage you and send you back to your old ways of eating. Remember that you didn't gain weight overnight, it was combination of making bad food choices over a long time.
You may well see a maintain tomorrow, but I'd be surprised at more than a half pound gain from one off day. Have lots of water and superspeed foods to help shift the bloated feeling.

Draw a line under it and forget it, what is eaten is eaten!!! Start again and focus on how much you have lost, this is just a little hiccup along the way and happens to us all.

OP, you might find this thread helpful. It is full of mnetters who are following all sorts of programmes imperfectly, and supporting each other. Loads of help, support and advice to be had .

The very reason that SW works for me is that you can fall off the wagon and get back on. It doesn't have to be a disaster. many of the inspiring weight loss stories I read have mentioned a bingey holiday or birthday, but they carried on afterwards and still lost weight long term.
To me, that's real life and that's how despite a few binges and off plan restaurant meals, I have still lost weight overall. If I couldn't t do that I would never stick to Slimming World and I'd be 16 pounds heavier.
What you've done is not the end of your weight loss story.
Use your syns so you don't get tempted to binge and just plan a bit better in advance. I keep hard boiled eggs in the fridge and Muller Lights. An egg and a yoghurt and a couple of satsumas stops the hunger dips between meals.

Start writing every single thing down again for the next week. Be really strict. In about 48 hrs your head will be back in the game.

Draw a line under it and move on.it happens every now and then. Especially on crappy days. Remember - its a marathon not a sprint.
