Quick recipes for evening meal

I've just recently started slimming world again (2nd time!!) but I find that a lot of the meal ideas take ages to prepare and need ingredients that I don't usually have in the house. I have 2 kids and a fussy husband to cook for and we don't get home from work until 5:30pm and by this point we are all starving and want a quick tea. Can anyone give me any recipes for some quick family meals?

Genuinely I would suggest just making what you usually make but tweaking it so that its compliant- eg spag bol, use 5% fat mince instead of usual, use spray instead of oil, chuck in loads of veggies and use passata instead of jar sauce etc.
Or how about pork tenderloin chopped v thin, stir fried with some garlic, ginger and vegetables, served w noodles, and cook w teriyaki sauce and a little soy? Only a syn or 2 in that (I think 1 for teriyaki but would need to check)
Lots of easy stuff once you get into the mindset. Jacket potato w beans and salad. Couscous with salmon and veg. Omelette. Egg fried rice w spicy veg. I could go on, they're my regulars!

In the Nov/Dec SW magazine there are quite a few quick meal options. It does depend on what you mean by quick though. We recently tried one of the recipes and it took about an hour to cook from start to finish, but 30 mins of that was it cooking in the oven.
I highly suggest you plan your week's meals and shop for them so you have the ingredients in the house. That saves you money in the long run (as you aren't buying unncessary stuff) and you are more likely to stick to SW. From experience, I do much better in the weeks where we've planned and shopped ahead for the week.
Do you have a food processor and slow cooker? We use our food processor to speed up chopping of onions etc. And the slow cooker is great when you want a night off cooking. You can roughly chop everything the night before and just bung it all in. Switch on to low in the morning and it'll be ready when you get home.

Thanks for your replies, yes I have a slow cooker and a blender etc... an hour to prepare and cook is exactly what im looking for. I think planning meals is a brill idea, we always end up wasting food because of not planning meals we just normally decide on that night what were having and nobody agrees!!

I do a normal meal plan and tweak it for SW.
Have managed to come up with most recipes inc a fabulous white sauce for lasagne.......just can't do pastry.....
Food this week.....
Gammon steaks, eggs, swede chips, salad
Carrot and coriander soup
Spicy chicken rice
SW meatballs and chips

The hairy dieters have a potato pastry calzone that seems to be around 5-7.5 syns per portion depending on size of portion? No idea how that compares to regular pastry (though filo is probably not too bad).
Not a quick meal though anyway

Meal plan done, shopping done, lets see how this weight loss goes!! Has anyone seen the new Lean in 15 book by Joe Wicks? Looks brill but not sure how it will fit in with slimming world.
