Hello. I'm new :)

I have recently joined a Slimming World group. My first target is to go from Obese to 'merely' overweight.

I don't want to mention my weight here, I don't even think I can type it cos it makes me feel panicky.

I have significant mental health issues and food features strongly! Without wanting to make this a pity party for one lets just say I have emotional ties to food and when having a bad time mental health wise, food is my friend and my enemy!

I'm hoping to lose some weight, make some friends, re-wire my broken brain, and feel better in every way. Not much to ask right?! lol

Im here for support if you need it I tend to reach for the cider if Im having a tough timeSad, so I have 2 evils to conquer-the alcohol & the weight lossSad
I am on anti-depressants which helps a lot.
How much have you lost so far?? I have lost 13 1/2 lbSmile

I am 7 weeks into slimming world and have lost 1 stone. I had lost 5 stone alone before but then realised I had put on over a stone and needed to get back in control.

I find staying to group helps massively. I was determined not to like group but it really helps

Hi! I started SW 6 weeks ago. I got my first stone bling on Thursday.Grin You can do it. I've yoyo'd for years, but this way of eating has only meant a few minor changes in what I eat (bye bacon fat Sad) and a big loss as a result. Go for it!

Wow what lovely supportive replies :) I have literally just joined so my first weigh in is monday. I'm so nervous that I won't have lost anything that will be so embarrassing! I have stuck to plan and am liking it so far, I even had a magnum yesterday (12 syns, sooooo worth it!)

I joined the week before my husband and best mate both had birthdays. There was much alcohol and I was bloody glad to have a maintain on my first weigh in! Draw a line, move on. I lost consistently after that (apart from 1/2 on my birthday week) so I don't care!

I was so so nervous on my first weigh in too, just like you, afraid that I`d put weight on as I was eating so much on this so called diet, I lost 10 lb that first weekShockShockGrin
2nd week I lost 3 lb & Tuesday jut gone it was 1/2 lb lossSmile
I want to lose 1/2 lb again this week to make it a stoneSmile

You can put in your weight loss (or gain or maintain) every week & t puts your progress on a chart-I like to see things like thatSmile
Theres loads of recipes, help & support too Ive still not looked at everything on the site!!

First weigh in. I lost.... half a pound.

Honestly, I'm gutted :( I stuck to plan and turned down so many nice things all week. The other people who joined at the same time as me lost upwards of 5lb each, one person lost 10lb!!! In one week!!

I'm really upset and feel like I will be fat forever! I showed my diary to the consultant and she looked quickly and said it looked ok but will look properly and call me in the week.

Gonna stick with it again this week but feeling fairly demotivated :(

Some people have huge losses in their first week and it's really hard not to compare but you've done well, a loss is a,loss and I'd put money on it being a bigger loss next weigh in!

Oh no Shabby, were you expecting a gain? Ugh this diet thing is all consuming isn't it, I had a dream the other night that I lost half a stone in one week and when I woke up I felt proper gutted that it wasn't true.

I was a bit naughty last night and ended up having a glass of wine (having already eaten all my syns)
