Paying for missed weeks.

Ok, advice needed.

Went to group, signed up. Only realised after you have to pay for missed weeks and only get 6 free. No problems I thought, except then I realised half of the time (literally 4 out of every 8 weeks) I can't go because of husbands shifts and looking after my daughter.

So how do I get round this?! Think £5 a time is pretty steep for me (broke!) Let alone £10!

Also, if I stopped going before I reached target will I be chased for not going and charged lots of money :-/

No, don't worry - if you stop going, you don't have to pay anything! You could let your consultant know as a courtesy, but you only have to pay for missed weeks if you return and want to keep your weight loss 'history' (rather than rejoin as a new member, which can be cheaper if you've been away for a while).

As for the missed weeks - is there another class you can get to? You can go to any group anywhere in the country, so perhaps you could alternate between groups to fit around your husband's shifts. Otherwise I guess you could think of the fiver for the each missed week as a fiver you would have paid anyway - annoying, though, I'm sure!

No, you will not be charged money for not going if you leave before target. People who do shift work get some kind of dispensation (what, i don't know). Can you go in, in the next few weeks and say you have a new job that does shifts, giving your husbands work pattern?

May be someone who does shifts would be best placed to give you info.

I think members who are shift workers can arrange around those shifts without penalty?

It's worth asking if you can do that I think, can't hurt. I'm sure my leader would have been fine with that. It was a couple of years ago mind you, could be stricter now.

Is there a reason you can't take your daughter? The group I go to has some little ones there (and the group I used to go to had some not-so-little ones in the school holidays).

Alternately, the weeks you can't go to your "normal" group because of your DH's shifts, is there another group you can go to - so you weigh on a Wednesday rather than a Thursday or whatever?

You won't be charged for missed weeks if you don't go back - and if you do go back and the missed weeks would cost more than joining then you just pay a joining few again.

You could take your DD to the group I go to as well, I think it's pretty common.

You can also go to any other group in that week and pay for that instead. (Different time, day and place)

You might also be able to get the extra weeks free because it's for your DH's shifts...it's definitely worth asking about as shift workers aren't charged.
