Hi I am thinking of joining Slimming World this week. I have stuck to diets in the past but have found it hard to lose weight. I have a underactive thyroid which i think doesnt help but lately i just seem to be gaining weight more.
I am not a big eater but find some diets are all fruit and veg and i find them hard to eat everyday. Would be good to hear from someone in the same position if Slimming World worked for them.

Hi Kitty, I joined SW in January and have lost 3.5 stones so far. I do eat a lot of fruit especially for snacking but I love that the meals on SW are 'proper' food if you like, it doesn't feel like I'm on a diet (which is why I chose it in the first place).

I'd say go along to a group, listen to the leader give you the new member talk and see if you think it would work for you. You have nothing to lose by trying it (except some lbs!)

Definitely not all fruit and veg! I'm currently in target having lost just under 4 stone between November and April. I think what it's taught me most are better habits - always have fruit/veg with a meal. Last night I had green Thai kebabs from Waitrose with homemade chips, lighter than light mayo and salad. And the whole thing was 2 syns (you can have 5-15 syns a day). I've found it really easy to stick to. I have had to cut down on alcohol though!
