Or you can do a search on the website for a recipe.

Stock pot (the jelly like ones) 1/2 pot of quark stirred in with a couple of tsp of whole grain mustard is lovely with pork loin steaks

BikeRunSki · 26/05/2015 22:30

Add some chopped capers and have it as tartare sauce on SW chips and fish.

It's like fromage frais really, use it the same. Or Greek yogurt... Some varieties are firmer, I like those for spreading instead of using Philly- type cheese. The 'wetter' types I really don't like the taste of Grin, but when I have fromage frais I tend to use it like yoghurt to eat with fruit or as a basis for a 'creamy' sauce or salad dressing... But only ever stir in at the end of cooking it tends to separate when heated.

It's nice made into smoked salmon dip/page with a pack of smoked salmon trimmings, black pepper, lemon juice and a bit of horseradish all whizzed in a food processor.

Thanks
I was trying to find something to take into work, but I guess I'll end up saving for an evening meal
I did do a search, but nothing really grabbed me

I love the SW carbonara.

In one pan, boil pasta. In a deep frying pan,fry diced bacon (no fat), peas. Once the bacon is cooked, add in stock (one cube made up as per packet). Let it simmer while you make the sauce in another bowl:- massive dollop of quark, salt and pepper, and an egg.

When the pasta is cooked, drain and put in with the stock and bacon. Stir for a couple of minutes then take it off the heat. Stir in the quark/egg. The heat will cook the egg.

Serves with grated parmesan.

I make carbonara with it as well...but not that recipe, there's a few about though.

You could make SW quiche with it, but tbh cottage cheese is better...

I'm struggling to think of lunch things with quark, lol.

I use it in curries mostly where I'd normally use cream or yoghurt, or with garlic as a dip, or as a sweet topping for things.

BikeRunSki · 27/05/2015 13:18

As a sauce for potato salad

CookieMonster101 · 28/05/2015 00:13

500 quark. Grate a cucumber, add quark, as much garlic as you want. A bit of salt. A lovely low fat tzaziki nice with potatoes or meat :)

CookieMonster101 · 30/05/2015 15:34

Mallets, do you mix it all together on the hob? Does it curdle? Sounds delicious, never thought of using quark for it

LaurieFairyCake · 30/05/2015 15:45

I used a whole pot in a lamb curry - it was fab!
