First week, gained 1.5 pounds. Someone slap me.

I am so upset.

I'm 30, with a stone to lose, been eating really badly recently due to house move etc, lots of takeaways (two or three times a week), lots of chocolate and shite, just general crap.

So, I joined Slimming World, and I weighed in last week at 11 stone 3 at 5 foot 8, and this week I'm 11 stone 4.5. I thought I'd been good! Sad Sad I've also been taking XLS Medical Fat Binder, so I thought this'd give me a boost!
I'm also off on a holiday on the 13th and I was counting on being a few pounds down this week and then a few more by then - that's not going to happen now. I am PISSED.

I have had one half glass of red wine all week and no sweets at all. I would have been miffed enough at no loss at all, but a gain???

What I've put it down to:

  • I only had five days on the plan, due to work drinks the day after I joined up and then a rotten hangover the day after that.
  • I'm old now. Last time I did this kind of thing I was 25 and it fell off whenever I was good.
  • When I'm eating normally, I tend to skip meals to 'even out' eating crap - so, say, I would have a blueberry muffin and then nothing all day till dinner. Or, a protein shake all day and then pizza. I thought since I've been eating really healthily, it'd just come off. Sad

Well done Misfor! How did you manage to stop drinking? I see that as my biggest challenge :/

Its been quite tough to change my drinking habits. I've not been what i'd consider an excessive drinker but a very large glass 1/3 - 1/2 a bottle of red wine maybe five nights a week. At events somewhat more.

I discovered for me theres a craving window of about an hour from when the kids go to bed till after I've eaten dinner/ sat down and relaxed. Once I realised it was just this window of time that was worst I started having a few syns or hifi light bar at this time along with a large drink of caffine free coke or diet lemonade. I don't snack at that time now, i no longer have the wine o clock issue that was so strong. If i'm honest it took about four months to not want a drink at that time, which on reflection is surprisingly long.

I keep the black tower b mini bottles in now which are about 4 syn for 187ml but lower alcohol too and a bit table wine but do for those days when
I just fancy a drink. I'd say we have a nice bottle of wine to share about once a month and I just call it a flexi day.

I only tend to drink of a weekend (usually a Friday). However, I would probably drink a whole bottle from 6/7ish to 11/12ish Blush

WinkI joined slimming world last week and I lost 3lb in my first week I want to lose 2 stone .so still long way to go but finding it easy .stick with it

Well done Tessie. I haven't had the best couple of days. I have felt really sick so I haven't been able to stomach much more than toast and crackers. Feeling much better now so hopefully will be back on track tomorrow.
