I have been saving my syns for a chocolate biscuit in the evening and I need the syns for other bits and pieces through the day, ketchup or whatever.

Has anyone discovered any small treats to see them through their sugar craving in the afternoon with a cuppa? If I have another chocolate biscuit in the afternoon I will be over my syn limit and I really don't want to be. Any tips? I was hoping that sugar free jelly would hit the spot but it turns out that that has syns in it too.

If you can save your hexb till later in the day you can have two of the hi-fi bars as your hexb. I only discovered them last night and I think they're fab! I really like the rocky road one with mini marshmallows, and the choc ones have got sultanas in them which makes them slightly chewy!

I try and keep my HEB for the hi fi bars. The peanut ones are divine, you can have one as HEB or they're 6 syns. The new rhubarb crumble ones are only 3 syns (or 2 as HEB) and really nice.

Alpen light bars are also 3 syns or HEB. I haven't tried any other cereal bars.

If cereal bars aren't your thing have you tried the muller light chocolate orange yogurts? They're free.

Sometimes I find an options hot chocolate (2 syns) rather than a cup of tea hits the spot although it's a drink rather than a snack with tea.

I think you may need to try & knock the chocolate biscuits on the head. Try to replace them with something low syn instead. The 'chocolate biscuit with a brew' is a habit. One that may have been part of why you're doing SW now - I know it was with me. That will free up syns for other things.

The 10 Calorie jellies are 1/2 syn each. One of those with loads of chopped berries & some fat free yoghurt is low syn and more filling than a chocolate biscuit.

Raisins aren't free anyway. They are synned, as is all dried fruit.

How many syns is your chocolate biscuit? There's a chocolate sauce (can also be used to make hot choc) called choc shot that is low syns. You can mix it with yoghurt and use it as a dip for fruit or use it as a dip on it's own. Meringue nests are around 2 syns each, not chocolatey, but very sweet.

You can use a 10 cal/half syn jelly to make a trifle. Add it to some chopped fruit and then top with a banana and custard mullerlight and then some far free Greek yoghurt mixed with a little vanilla and Splenda.

I agree about the hifi bars too. The new ones taste just like rhubarb and custard sweets.

A lady at group makes rice pudding with hexa almond milk & pudding rice with sweetener. Free apparently. It would keep for a couple of days, add yogurt and fruity to it?

If you really need choccy hit, try the mini kinder bars, they are 3.5 syns I believe :) or one square of dark choc rather than a biccy, biccies are hard to stop eating I find. I often make quark mixed with a choc options sachet (2syns) then top with strawberries, tastes like cheesecake!

I always use my HEXB for 2 hi-fi bars (double choc or rocky road are my fave) & generally have one mid-afternoon & save one to have with my after dinner coffee in the evening. I do find also having a piece of fruit in the afternoon helps especially if it's something really sweet like ripe cherries or strawberries.
I have quite a sweet tooth anyway but certain times of the month I really do need to have some 'safe' sugary naughties on stand-by or I'd be dashing to the shop for bars of chocolate Blush. My staples are:

sugar free jelly (just plain or with fruit pieces and yogurt), meringue nests, make up an exotic fruit salad to graze on throughout the day, alpen light (70cal) bars, fat free yogurt with a teaspoon of honey (1 syn) bulk out with blueberries &/or banana, fat free fruit yogurts (Activia 0% are my favourite & I often have one between meals) also good frozen.

I also meant to say if anyone has any slightly more natural suggestions to combat the sweet tooth cravings I'd love to hear them as whilst I use these sugar free alternatives I don't like eating them much (IYKWIM)

I make very low syn meringues. The ones on the right are from Tesco and are 1 syn each, the ones on the left are homemade and 1/2 syn each. 1/4 syn without the brushing of chocolate (but the chocolate really adds something).

The recipe is 3 egg whites, 90g sugar, 10g sweetener, 1/2 teaspoon orange essence and then dark chocolate chips melted and brushed over the bases.

Brownies - do not use that much sweetener though, 35g is plenty.

Buns - they're called cupcakes, but they're not.

That recipe I've also used with beetroot (the cocoa version) and quark to make red velvet cake and carrot, mixed spice, quark and orange essence to make carrot cake.

Someone's already mentioned small kinder bars at 3.5 syns.

Matchmakers are 1 syn each.

Jaffa cakes are 2.5 syns and pink wafer biscuits are 2 syns.

Really though, if you're struggling because of the habit of biscuits with tea, you'd be better looking at replacing it altogether.

When I want something sweet I go for cherries or strawberries first and if they haven't cut it then I'll resort to chocolate, but because I'm having fruit it doesn't take as much chocolate.

For the meringues it depends how big they're piped. The orange tinged ones with chocolate on the bottom the batch was 80 (10 rows of 8 because thats what fits on my biggest flat sheet). They've got 18 syns in, only syns being the 90g sugar. So 72 meringues would be 1/4 syn each plus chocolate. I use the costco 50% coco baking chocolate drops. 10 drops are 1 syn and I use less than 2 to brush on each meringue so they're 1/2 syn each with chocolate.

The bigger ones, i did at christmas tinged green, the mix was a little wetter due to flavouring and colouring and i got fewer.

I bake for 2 hours at 110. If the mix is wet/ its a really damp day they get left in the oven with it off for a further hour or two to cool after this. If they're firm, its straight into a jar.

You get around 35 sweets for about 3.5 syns

I nibble on Matchmakers or Sainsburys own version they're 1 syn each but I break them into small pieces so they take longer to eat. Half syn cake is yummy and there is a blogger called the naked blondie who has some low syn cake recipes on her page, the chocolate brownies are very nice!

I'd be dropping your chocolate biscuits if they're using all of your syns each day and shake things up a bit using your syns on something else.

Someone at group suggested putting a pink and white in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. I did , they swell up and go sort of gooey. Gorgeous! 3 syns each.

I've just looked at the naked blondie website, thank you so much for mentioning it. There's so fantastic recipes on there. I've got people staying at Easter and wanted some sort of cake to make, now I've loads of choices.

I use the chocolate orange virtually zero calorie sauce from the skinny food company.
I mix it with fat free natural yogurt

i make 9 muffins ...80z oats, add a egg, add some splenda or stevia...then add a muller light yogurt i used toffee...mix ....put into muffin tin sprayed with 1 cal...and poke in 3 blue berries in each muffin...bake at 180 for 20 mins...the whole 9 muffins free on slimming world plan....nice with a cuppa .

I had the same problem with afternoon sugar cravings. I swapped the biscuit for a Options hot chocolate made with water, low syns and it felt like a treat. Fat free Greek yogurt with a bit of sweetener and cocoa powder also worked. Sugar free jelly never did it for me either. Having a planned sweet option earlier stopped me blowing all my syns later.
