I need to lose about 3 stone.

I have done Ww in the past but hate pointing everything.
I tried slimming world once many years ago and put on weight in the first week, leader was very unsupportive so I didn't go back.

I'm not very good a portion control so worry that it wouldn't work for me.

I'd like to try slimming world again, I've been on Instagram and people seem to do really well on it.

Any advice?

I'm on SW. Quite enjoying it. I'm taking the scenic route though - have only lost 13lb since I started in July! Got about another stone and a half to go.

I am cheating quite a bit though - if you stick to it the weight loss can be really fast.

I lost 3.5 stone 5 years ago with Cambridge diet. This is much more healthier and I do see it as being very sustainable long-term too.

My leader is good, gives people a kick up the arse if they need it, or ones like me who are happy with slow and steady loss and the occasional gain, she's fine with that too.

Sorry meant to say

So I'd go for it if I were you - good luck!

First things first ignore my username! I am about half a stone from target now lost 3 stone on slimming world and love it, plus you are never hungry, I am doing extra easy and it is easy, it has taken me a while I seem to have gone the scenic route ( drinks too much wine and gets the munchies)

I Love slimming world - especially the extra easy plan. So much food you can eat, hardly any weighing/ measuring and just really really healthy eating. I've lost two stone on it. I've been to meetings and the biggest loss in a week I've heard in the group was 7lb. I'm at target now and keeping it off nicely as my eating habits have improved massively. It's easy to cook for the family too and stick to the plan. DH has also lost a stone through eating the same as me. The group leader makes a difference - join up and if you don't like the first one you try just change classes.

It's great! I have a really good leader, and also a big help for me is the Facebook page, I think if you are on Facebook, most slimming world leaders have a page. It's great for support and ideas.

I need to lose 3 stones. I'm doing slimming world on line. I started on 14th November, had my first weigh in today and I'm 7lbs down! I've never been hungry in the past 7 days and I'm enjoying everything that I do eat.

Go for it!!

How exactly does SW work? I've tried WW before and lost weight but I'm struggling to find the motivation to start pointing again.

lizandlulu · 22/11/2014 17:08

I'm not entirely sure of the exact science behind it, but the principle is to eat more low calorie filling food, simple good food, that makes you less hungry and want to eat less crap. It does work. We have to limit the amount of bread and cereal, and milk and cheese. These are a specific amount we are allowed to choose and eat daily to be healthy.

I did ww years ago, just before they changed to the pro points way. After doing the extra easy plan on sw there is no way I would choose ww again, I haven't got the time or the inclination to count every ting I put in my mouth
