New to Slimming World - Question about fruit...

Hi,
I have just joined SW and I was reading through the book that they gave me which lists out the food I can eat etc. I am a little confused and hope someone can help out...on page 10 it lists the superfree food - fruit. I notice that grapes don't have an s or ss beside them - does this mean you can't eat as much as you like of them (are they not superfree or just not speed)?
TIA

if they are on the super free list, you can eat as many as you want but they are not s speed or super speed food.

Thank you...just wanted to know what it meant and if I can eat as much as i want of it.

They won't be speed or super speed because they're really high in sugar. They are my favourite fruit but I limit myself to a handful a day because of this.

And does speed and superspeed mean that you lose weight quicker? Sorry if this seems a silly question - the consultant just briefly went over the plan that night I joined.

You can't really make yourself lose weight really fast but speed and super speed foods are low in calories while being nutritionally rich, so are good for snacking. Free foods that are not S or SS can slow your weight loss down if you were to eat it constantly in high amounts. So if you ate a punnet of grapes a day, that would definitely slow your losses down because you'd be taking loads of energy and sugar. Does that make sense?

Hi cherrybombxo thank you so much for the explanation. I just could not understand if fruit was superfree and you can eat as much as you like then why it did not have s or ss but I can still eat grapes for example but for snacking should stick to something with s or ss as these will be better for me in the long run. Love grapes so will have to watch how many I eat!! Thank you for your help!

No worries! Grapes are my absolute favourite but I limit myself to a handful a day as part of my lunch, I could easily eat an entire punnet Grin
