Any Slimming World Cookery books worth buying?

Hi all, started SW last month and doing well so far - 1 stone 4 pounds off (few more to go...). I am needing a bit of inspiration as I find I stick to same meals. There are loads of books in group for sale but are there any you can recommend or tell me to avoid please. Not that bothered about puddings more main meals. The 100 extra easy days looks ok and only £3.50.

I know that the family meals on a budget one and the fakeaways one were very popular in my group.

Have you tried the magazine? They have lots of recipes in.

JimmyCorkhill · 16/07/2014 11:30

I like this site too.

That's great Jimmy thanks - I've bought the magazine, I'll have a look at books you mentioned. I haven't seen that website before. that looks great - intrigued by the cauliflower garlic 'bread'. Thanks again.

Hairy Bikers diet book is good for Slimming World I seem to remember, and some of the recipes from it are on the bbc website

Thanks I'll take a look at that too - not a fan of the HBs on tv but book could be good.

I have the family meals on a budget and extra easy express book. They're both good although I probably use the magazines and slimming world website most for recipes.

Thanks - I like the website too. I'm off to find some inspiration!

The Fakeaways book is brilliant - SW versions of 'takeaway' food. Some gorgeous recipes, especially the Indian stuff.

CrumblyMumbly · 20/07/2014 18:37

Thanks I'll get that one too!

I have the curry heaven one and use it all the time. The kofta curry is delish.

I like the Extra Easy All in One book. It's split into sections, like a tray in the oven, a pan on the hob, casserole in the oven, slow cooker. Everything I've made from it has been nice.

I've also got a set of books that I bought in Sainsburys. There is an Italian one, a fast food (as in quick to cook) one, a world flavours one and something else. There was also a curry one in the set, but I also have the curry book that you can buy in Group so I didn't get that one.

It's about 6 months since I got the ones from Sainsburys. They were only £4 each I think, so I snapped them up! They are official Slimming World ones, each has a bit of SW 'blurb' at the beginning.

I really like the fake away one. The curries are yummy.

I bought the soup one and I really like it. I have also started a recipe share thread - please add your favourite recipes Smile

my faves are Fakeaways, Extra Easy Express, Family Feasts on a Budget and Taste of Asia. Bought Taste of Asia in group on Fri and made Thai Green Curry this evening, was delicious!
