SW on a budget?!
Glittermud · 29/06/2014 13:12
I'm going to be joining for the first time tomorrow night, but I am on a tight food budget and was wondering if any of you have any tips for great family meals that work on SW that I can maybe make in bulk or freeze, etc.
I can't afford to be eating differently to everyone else in the family and need to save money. Thanks!

I never cook separately to the rest of the family and most family meals can be adapted to be made slimming world friendly. This week we'll be having spag bol, lasagne, kedgeree, roast chicken etc. Once you've joined you'll be able to access all the recipes on the slimming world website and there's lots of good ideas there to get you started.

I'm doing it on a budget too, and generally speaking my trick is just to chuck lots of chopped veg into the slow cooker in the morning, sometimes with some cheap cuts of meat, sometimes with chickpeas or other pulses, and then make up a sauce combination, either tomato based, stock based or soy sauce based with plenty of herbs and spices and let it cook all day. Serve with rice/ sweet potato wedges/ homemade chips/ mash potato. Cheap and easy.
