How to explain weight gain...

...when you're on your period?! Is there a non-embarrassing way of explaining this?

I ALWAYS gain weight on my period no matter how well I've eaten. I'm sitting waiting for group to start and I've gained 2lbs this week (I've not had a perfect week ate a yummy cheese scone though but being on my period is contributing to the 2lbs)

When they go round everyone discussing losses/gains, should I just casually throw "well I'm on my rag so that's OBVIOUSLY why I've gained"? I don't think the few men in group would appreciate knowing about my monthly cycle patterns somehow...

I just say something about hormonal water retention. Then everyone nods along muttering about star weeks or somesuch other stuff.

How about - I've gained two but I know it's just water weight this week so am not worried - and then smile as the next person so they can say their bit?

I was thinking saying something along the lines of being bloated, but luckily it's buffet night tonight so we didn't go round everyone!

And I have some great recipes too Grin

our leader always used to say its Star Week if we were due on!

Star week is the reason our leader uses too ,

I'm a little bit sick in my mouth every time someone mentions star week, its like "tuppence" or "foufou" but maybe that's just me!

(also I combed through my book to find out what they were talking about for the first few weeks!)

"I always gain 2 pounds at this time of the month"

'Star week' is a grim term, you get loads of ladies talking about it on the slimming world fb group and it takes me a lot of will power to type "YOU ARE GROWN WOMEN FFS! JUST SAY PERIOD, IT WONT KILL ANYONE!"

If only I harnessed that same willpower for food Hmm
