Starting SW tomorrow

I am considering joining my local SW group tomorrow. Please tell me it's worth doing and will work.

I've had my first weigh in today and lost 2ibs.

I was amazed. Was sure I was going to put weight on because of the amount of pasta & potato I have ate this week.

I stuck to plan 100%. I never felt hungry although it took me until the weekend to feel like I knew what I was doing. The meals we eat aren't bad (all home made from scratch) but I'm terrible when it comes to snacking. Writing it all down has made me realise how much rubbish I have actually been eating.

The only main changes I've made at home is swapping to fry light and changing from lean to extra lean meat. I've ate bigger portions to fill me up and made sure that I have loads of extra veg/salad with each meal. I've been snacking on fruit or low fat yog and having a little treat of an evening with a cup of tea. I've really cut down on tea drinking by drinking much more water instead.

Thanks. I need to tackle the snacking, which is my main problem. I can snack for England! I know I need to change the way I view my eating and I am hoping SW can help me.

I have tried all sorts of other diets, but none have sorted me out. I manage really well for a few weeks but then something happens, could be good or bad, and then I can't get back on track.

The bmi calculators suggest I need to lose 5st, but I think I would feel so much better if I lost just 2st and kept it off.

The meeting is tomorrow morning, still deciding......

And well done for your first successful week.

Thanks Smile

I have 3 stone to lose.

Im finding that I need to keep track of what I'm eating otherwise I shovel stuff in without realising.

Also, planning ahead. If I'm rushing about then I'll end up eating rubbish so I spend 10 mins before bed planning the next days meals.

Potatoes/pasta/rice are 'free' so I'm easting much bigger portions than I normally would but im making sure that half of my plate is veg/salad too. Threes so much you can eat that you never ever go hungry.

Ok, I've joined!

Looks relatively straightforward, just have to convince my subconscious!

Planning will be key, and your idea of planning for the next day sound doable. Planning a whole week in advance is a but daunting.

I've been food shopping almost every day! Constantly running out of fruit & yoghurts.

I've had a busy day today which ended in my toddler splitting his chin open but managed to stay on plan. Today was the first day I've actually felt hungry. I was rushing around and didn't really eat a proper meal until tea time.

Tomorrow I'm having bran flakes with banana & yoghurt. All free.

Jacket pot + something. Have some left I've bolognaise in fridge or might have ham salad. All free.

Tea time we are having home made burgers & cheese, caramelised red onions, chips & salad. Will syn cheese but rest is free.

Bough some rocky toad high bars at sw meeting so planning one of those at some point. 3 syns each and are delish.

I need to write it all down otherwise I forget what I have had.

Good luck Smile

All sounds good.

I had porridge for breakfast with some grapes on the side. I'm just making a pastry-less quiche for lunch with onions, peppers, courgettes, mushrooms, eggs, bacon and a bit of cheese (syns) for the top. I will probably eat the whole thing!! For tea I think I will make chicken jambalaya from an old weightwatchers recipe I've got, I think it's all free, but will check properly later.

Feeling very positive about it all at the moment. Hope my enthusiasm holds. :-)

Jambalaya sounds lovely Smile

Im still trying to get my head around it but finding the app very handy to quickly check syns. I'm in a little routine now so my meals are all free foods. Then I can use my syns in evening for something nice with a cup of tea.

I'm planning on making the crustless quiche this weekend too.

Im going to make banana flapjack and a big batch of soup to freeze this weekend too. Well that's the plan anyway. Hoping the flapjack will work as a good snack to take out and about. At the moment I'm having apples, satsuma's or a sw/alpen bar.

Ended up eating out today but I had a jacket potato, beans and salad so that's was all free.

We've had cheese burgers for tea with caramelised red onions, salad & chips plus lots of beetroot. The burgers were very tasty. Dh wants them again tomorrow!

When is your next meeting?

crumbleofblackberries · 03/05/2014 09:09

Well done for following the plan when you went out, don't think I can risk that yet.

Made the jambalaya, and put in 50g of chorizo (to make it more interesting) which is only 3.5 syns. I ate half of it , so the whole meal was only 1.75syns. Put the remainder in the freezer in 2 takeaway containers, so have ready made lunches!

I weigh in on Thursday morning, how about you?

My weight in is Wednesday morning.

Had to really stop myself from picking at rubbish today. I had 2 chips at my sons football match but resisted anymore. My husband is off work for 2 weeks which doesn't help especially when he's having biscuits with a cup of tea!!!

I've been dreaming of my tea. Have saved my healthy a&b for a bread bun and cheese slices today to have a bacon double cheese burger & wedges. Drooling .....
