I started this in general weight loss but have put it here hoping for more traffic. Apologies if this in not appropriate - still relatively new to Mumsnet in terms of actual posting!

I have, after 10 years of trying, lost 3 stones at slimming world (and half a stone before that but my leader will not let me count that in the book!!!!)

i now weigh 12 8 and am 5 9' and at the moment appear to be half way between a 12 and a 14. When I was at my slimmest I was a 12, never been smaller than that. although I accept that as this is 15-20 years ago, the sizes may be different.

I have not yet set a target, the range in weight given for my height is huge. I was thinking of going for 11 13. ( I never weighed myself when I was a size 12 so have no idea what I weighed then)

The weight loss is very noticeable in my face and the bones that run across the base of neck/ top of chest are quite prominent. I am thrilled about my face ( I now have the super short crop that I always had but avoided when I was bigger and love it). I worry however that if I lose too much more then I will look gaunt- those sticky out bones are a worry.

My legs now look good (will never be great) to the extent that I happily wear skirts above the knee for the first time in 15 years.

Now the big BUT- my stomach does not look good, it is saggy and wrinkly and I have wrinkly skin on other parts of body too (arms and shoulders).

So my questions are - is the fact that there is still loose skin on my stomach a sign that I need to lose more weight, or is it exercise that is needed for that? I currently do no exercise at all (yes I know....)
Should I follow my instinct and not lose too much more

Have a medal if you got to the end of this post!!

I think now as you are losing weight you definitely need to add in some exercise, not just to tone up but the weight will be harder to lose as you get nearer target. The exercise will help. Just start gently increasing your activity like Slimming World suggests and you should see a difference!

Well done on the weight already gone!

Thank you-I am thinking of starting with walking with the children and then buying a bike. I have cancelled my gym membership as I never use it! We do have a wii fit so I may drag that out

Sounds like a good plan :) it really will make a difference - even if you don't lose weight you should lose inches, so taking a few measurements might be a good idea and stop you becoming disillusioned with it.
