ds, 2.3, sleep gone pear shaped since new baby

I had ds 2 just two weeks ago and since then DS 1 has been struggling to get to sleep. He gets out of bed, cries for us, and most nights has ended up in bed wth us in the middle of the night. I was expecting him to be a bit unsettled wth the arrival of a new baby, and I spent longer in hospital than I had wanted, so I'm trying to be very patient and reassuring - guess I just want to know if it will sort itself out or if I'm in for a long haul... It took me a long time to get him to self settle but he has been reliably good at going to bed for months now

Our DS2 arrived when DS1 was about the same age as yours, and we had the same problem to start with. However, he did get used to DS2 crying, but I'm afraid I can't remember how long it took.

Now they are sharing a room (2.10 & 7mo) and DS1 only gets woken up occasionally.

Good luck - hope it sorts itself out soon. Can you delegate dealing with DS1? My DH did a good job in the early weeks while I dealt with DS2.
