It sounds pretty good, but am reluctant to shell out £30 if it's rubbish, so I thought I'd see if you lovely lot think it's worth a go. Getting a bit sick of DS2 waking at 5am.

Yes We have got one for our twins when they were 2 1/2 year olds.
We bought it for same reason as you and is actually very helpful It is very sweet when the moon comes up and then when the suns comes out too - there is a setting that works for daytime naps too.
The only niggle is that it is slightly awkward to programme until you get used to it.
What I wished I had bought is something similar but with clock numbers too, we've only had for 6 months but girls starting to get interested in numbers ( just a tiny bit).
They are very attached to it and it has a story that goes with it to explain it to them.

Thanks picnic. DS2 is quite obsessive about numbers, loves to count anything, so am hoping he will grasp the concept of "There are 2 stars left, so it isnt time to get up now".
Were you ambitious and set the 'sun' time for 7ish, or did you increase the time gradually?

We got it over a month ago for DS1 (now 2 & 4 months), as he'd wake between 5.30-5.45 and want to get up. For a month he totally didn't get it, I'd say you have to wait until the sun comes up for us to go downstairs, then he'd cry and not even notice the stars changing to the sun. However! This week he's suddenly started 'getting it' and for 2 days now he's not made a fuss when it was the stars (just played with toys in his room / was quiet in bed) and then yelled "Mummy! Sun up!". So now's the time for us to push the time back slowly from 6.15 and see how far we can get. I'd say it is pretty good but it's just a tool in the end and you have to back it up which can be hard work. It is nicely made and I figured it would last a good long while and still be useful until he could tell the time in the night himself. The new version now has a digital clock in the middle of it. I'd say set the time for an achievable time to get up (I put it just after he normally woke) and now he gets it, I'll start changing it by 5 mins at a time.
