Has anyone found that a dream show or musical mobile has helped their babies go to sleep?

Just wondering. 3 months might be too late to introduce such a thing but would love to try anything that might help remove me from the settling equation...

We have a musical seahorse from argos. Not a hundred per cent sure it works as he does still have to cry for 5-10 minutes, but things definitley better!

It's worked for both my DC's. I can't imagine leaving DS2 in the room without it on. I think he finds it comforting as he never cries before going to sleep and hasn't done since he was about three months old when we introduced it.

It's just a shame it doesn't work in getting him to have a longer lunchtime sleep but that's another post...

I highly recommend this. We introduced it to DD when she was around 7 months old, and wish we had done months earlier, as it taught her how to self settle. It's activated by both sound and by the baby bashing the big yellow button, which they soon get the hang of. It's a lifesaver in the middle of the night

I have found this baby sleep CD really great for our now 14 month old. He was probably about 11 months when we started using it and it's great - a bit hypnotic. lol!

DS got his for Christmas at 3 months and loves to watch it before he falls asleep. He's 7mo now.

Yes, and DS still loves it at 18 months.

It is a Fisher Price Rainforest thingybob. I think any of them would work TBH, as long as there is music, a light and some movement. And a button they can press themselves.

I used the Tomy 'magic light dreamshow' for both mine, introduced it around 3 months for both, from memory, and worked brilliantly.

DS2 (6 m) goes into his cot and gazes straight up at the lullaby light, waiting for me to switch it on. Whether naptime or bedtime I switch it on, kiss him night-night, leave the room, he chats a bit for the first few minutes, then drifts off, no crying at all . The dreamshow plays its music/lights for 10 minutes then just stops and unless chronically overtired DS2 is always asleep by the time it finishes. Has been a fab purchase for us!

Although I am slightly embarrassed that DS1 still asks to have his dreamshow turned on at bedtime every single night. At nearly six . Had to go on Amazon/ebay to source a new light for DS2 because they don't make them anymore and no way could I have ever asked DS1 to give his up!

Hoping he stops using it before he goes to college

I bought the Slumber bear when dd was 4 months as she couldn't re-settle.It has worked a treat and at 6 months we all fall asleep to the different noises/ music. It is self activated by crying or bumping about in the cot.

I use a winnie the pooh light show thingy, got it for £1.50 on ebay. Bargain! It projects pooh characters upwards, started using it at 6wks on ceiling but dont think DD could see it properly so moved it and it now projects onto cot canopy. i don't use it every night tho as i don't want to get in a situation where she can't sleep without it, in case it breaks or were staying with friends or family.
