Sleep

What age did your baby move into their own room at night?

DS is three months old and currently sleeps in our room, this is causing some serious sleep deprivation - I am quite good at sleeping through most of his noises but DH suddenly leaps out of bed if he hears any noises that he thinks are a little odd - there are normally 2/3 of these per night - I am sure DH sleeps better when I take DS into nursery and sleep on the futon we have in there - DS goes into big cot or I take moses basket with me. However then I miss sleeping beside DH.

I would be grateful for any info/tips/advice you can provide - I know the SIDS guidelines are that babies should room in until they're 6 months old but I am sorely tempted to shift him out at the moment.

TIA

i moved ds (10 weeks) into his own room a week ago. he's slept fine in there, but i've still been woken by every twitch and snuffle! think maybe i should turn the sensitivity of the baby monitor down a bit...

I think we did between 2-3 months for ds (too right tessasmum!) then he went into another room - didn't bother with a monitor (it was easy to hear when he wanted me!). dd we didn't move out for a lot longer as we only have two bedroom - in fact we moved onto a futon in our sitting room from maybe 8-12 months when she went in with ds. I absolutely cannot sleep in the same room as dd becasue she grins her teeth - urgggh!!!

Thank you for all your helpful messages, we are going to set up DS's monitor and then move him into nursery over the weekend.

Thanks again
