Waking up at 5-5:30 every morning

Hi there,
My 8.5 month old son has never slept seven to seven but was getting there until we cut off his 10:30pm milk. He now wakes up between 5 and 5:30am hungry for milk. We tried to reintroduce the late night feed but he refuses to even open his mouth. He clearly wakes up early because he doesn't get enough during the day - which I know, as he has little interest in his food. I keep his daytime sleep to a max of 3 hours and his milk feeds not more than 540-600ml. Don't know what else I can do. Would be grateful if you have been through similar and found a solution. Many thanks.

My daughter did this. The clock change was a Godsend By Autumn, her sleep etc was all sorted.

Some babies are not so keen on weaning, he'll get there, be patient and keep trying different foods, ideas etc. You sound like you're doing great.

I kept up the dream feed at 11pm until they didn't drink it all, or seemed not interested btw. Both my children dropped it before 12 months, but not at 8.5.

Yeah it's pretty normal for them to go through this early waking thing, mine did and i didn't find a solution till after 12 months where i just made her wait for milk till 6.30 and had to do controlled crying for the hour or so till then. I know it seems like torture to wake at this hour but it is very very common and many people don't consider it to be a problem, even if your peers aren't going through this yet they will soon when they baby reaches slightly older.. Sorry i don't have a solution but good luck
