DS2 is 13 weeks coming up, we were just starting to get 4 1/2 to 5 hours stretch between feeds during night (he is FF and feeds 2 1/2-3horly during day taking 5-6oz each time). The problem is he has started waking more frequently, three nights ago he was waking to be fed 3hourly, two nights ago it was 2hourly last night he fed 11,2.30,5 but was waking crying at 3am, 3.30am then from 6am onwards.
I was just wondering what could be causing this?

Could i just add, he weighs 15lb and is 75th centile for weight, incase that makes any difference.

mine too... DD is exclusively BF. Was going 10 hour stretches, now feeds every 3 hours. I feel your pain.... (also started at 13 weeks, now 15)

growth spurt

just feed him and it will settle down again

anniebigpants · 22/02/2010 20:09

Oh no ineedanamefast, i was hoping it would only last a few days, not weeks.

Thanks rubyslippers.Ive just been feeding him what he wants from the beginning and not taking too much notice of the clock, those 5 hour stretches of sleep were lovely though, and i hope they return soon

agreed DS had one, shouldn't worry this one lasted with DS for about 10 days iirc.

was one of the longest ones that he's had thou- is now 4. just go with it, feed when he wants to etc etc, you know what to do.

Good luck annie. Growth spurt time is about 12 weeks. Then a fair few afterwards.......

needanamefast · 26/02/2010 22:57

ahhhh just got better here, back to normal (realise I have just jinxed it and that was a stupid thing to say....)

jomummy2 · 28/02/2010 08:12

needanamefast, mine dd is exclusively bf too and started waking up 2 hrly after 1am bf at 13 wks and is now 15+4wks. She hasn't got better but reading your post has given me hope that its just a phase.
