Poor dd2 is recovering from a tummy bug, she had a sudden burst of energy around 11am so i bathed her and at 2pm she asked for some toast (first thing she has eaten for 2 days), she ate the toast and fell asleep. I won't wake her as i know she needs her sleep to recover from the illness but i'm dreading tonight, i havn't had a good night for 3 weeks as she had scarlet fever before D&V bug, i'm so tired, i need a nights sleep .

I don't know why i'm posting, just wanted some sympathy or someone to tell me 'she will sleep fine tonight'.

Hello! It's me! Glad she's feeling better. Is she normally a good sleeper? If she is then I am sure she'll still sleep tonight. My DSs both sleep in the day if they are ill / recovering and always sleep at night but they are 'good' sleepers anyway. Strangely though if they are just coming down with an illness DS1 will sleep all night and DS2 will wake every hour crying so I guess all children react differently.

She does tend to sleep when unwell, normally she is a poor sleeper and has medication to help her sleep but i don't want to give her medication in case it upsets her stomach. Hopefully she will sleep all night and then feel a lot better tomorrow. She's only just woken up and is led on the sofa drifting in and out of sleep watching cbeebies.
