Benefits of room siblings room sharing

Hi

I have a 5 yr old and 12 month old. They currently share a room and so far so good. except at times, when my 12 month old is not yet quite asleep, my 5 yr old will sometimes make playful sounds. then that totally wakes my 12 month old!

am thinking of putting them in separate rooms again.

any thoughts/opinions on this? thanks!

LOL - my daughter aged 2.6 yrs shares with my 12 month old son. I have to stagger bedtime now (since 2 weeks ago) and put the 2.6 yr old in once my baby is asleep, as otherwise they muck about together, and when my toddler goes in, I always say, you must be quiet as your brother is asleep etc. She is quite good if he is already asleep now...

But I have no choice as I live in a 2 bed flat.

i have just today moved my 8 months pld ds' cot into 4.5 yo ds1's room.

i had thought i might have to stagger bedtime.

will see how tonight goes. i'm crossing everything that i dont have to take him back into my room. i want to have a shower without an audience.

My DCs are 5 and 6.5 and share a room. Sometimes one is perkier than the other!

If one is exhausted he goes to sleep, and the other comes into my bed and gets his story and falls asleep there. I carry him back later.

DS1 is 6 and DS2 nearly 4 and they have shared since DS2 was 2. They sometimes chat for about 15 mins after I put them to bed (at the same time) but they then sleep like little angels until 8am. DS3 (11 weeks) on the other hand... When we go on holiday and DS1 and DS2 share though they can be still chatting at 10pm!

Sorry, that doesn't help your original query but I think they will settle down soon. I'd keep them together for a bit longer anyway and see how it goes. DH and I had DS2 in our room in his cot until he was 2 years old - now that was madness!
