my 4 month old go to sleep until 3 am then she will sleep 8 hours is this normal. She has a couple of naps during the day never more than an hour. She is a snacker and usually only feeds for about 10 mins at a time feeding every 3 hours or so. She is gaining weight well and happy and healthy. She is breast fed. I was hoping that she would sleep from midnight by now as its very tiring

DD did this for the first 3-4 months. I can sympathise with the tiredness. She did have more naps during the day but never more than an hour at a time.

But I realised this late bedtime wasn't set in stone and I gradually moved her bedtime forward (by 20-30 mins a night I think). I was feeding her to sleep so this worked most nights by altering feeds.

I'm sure someone else will be able to give more advice on dream-feeding, total amount of sleep in the day etc.

she'll have a 10 pm feed a 12pm feed and stay awake till about 3am feeding until she finally gives in. I gave her some baby rice reluctantly yesterday because shes a big baby, 19lb at 4 months, i didnt want to start her early but she slept from 1.30am so maybe she needs it.
