DS fell asleep in his cot...it's a miracle

DS has been fed/rocked to sleep since birth, fell asleep in his cot tonight for the first time EVER- he's 18mo.

Hoo-fuckin'-ray

Nooo, he probably won't stay there all night but it feels like a MASSIVE step forward. Am proud of him and quite pleased with myself for thinking of singing Twinkle Twinkle a hundred times instead of sticking him back on boob. And no tears involved.

Sorry for showing off, no-one in this house appreciates quite how momentous this is for me.

pleeeeeeeeeease tell me how you did this!

He woke up when I put him down after falling asleep whilst feeding, as always. Instead of picking him up I laid him back down and sang to him until fast asleep.

Have tried this periodically, usually he gets very upset and I end up feeding to sleep again. This time he was fine after an initial protest of about 3 seconds. I just think he was ready.

And am now hopeful that one day we won't have to be in the room when he falls asleep!

OMG, you are more patient than me - mine is only five months and I'm sick of the rocking already! Well done!

So there is hope for me yet then...

(12mo DS who is going backwards in terms of settling to sleep!)
