My son has always been a great sleeper until the last few weeks. We have moved to a bigger property and now my boys have seperate bedrooms, my younger son was fine at first but he is becoming increasingly scared to go to bed or downstairs/ upstairs without some one with him. he is nrmally so confident but recently he wont go anywhere without someone with him, any ideas on how to combat this would be great, bedtime is becoming a battle of wills and i am not too sure how much longer i can go with a bedtime taking hours.

Hello

Our daughter who is nearly four is having the same sort of issues. She's generally always found it hard to go to sleep without one of us there. We've just moved to Thames Ditton and she now has her own room. Started off well but now comes in with us every night and has to be marched back to her room until we are too tired and we all fall asleep !

The only things that helped us were gentle perserverance and an iron will to break the habit. Instead of sitting in her room until she slept we gradually moved onto the stairs so she knew we were there. Eventually the pattern was broken and she could at least drift off to sleep alone. But now tackling her coming in with us....
