...in a 24 hour period? I'm sure mine (just 3) isn't getting enough so I just want an overview, (...to make me feel better. Or worse!).

mine goes to bed around 8 pm and sleeps around 12 hours, sometimes more or less if she has had a busy day or a quiet one. she does not nap apart from on long car journeys. she can happily stay up late on special occasions, over xmas she stayed up til 11pm and slept til 930 am. hope that helps!

Seona1973 · 01/01/2010 08:45

ds is in bed for around 7.30pm and sleeps till around 7am or sometimes a bit later (but not today unfortunately!). He doesnt have a nap.

Seona1973 · 01/01/2010 08:46

p.s. he doesnt tend to sleep later if he has been up late so we keep his bedtime pretty regular with few late nights even in the holidays

MummyTumble · 01/01/2010 08:47

when dd was 3 she'd sleep around 11-12 hours at night and have a 1-2hour nap in the day. She only dropped her nap cos i put her in nursery.....even now at 4 she occasionally has a nap, or falls asleep in the car.

(For the first 2.5-3 years she was a rubbish sleeper though and rarely slept through the nightc )

BeckyBendyLegs · 01/01/2010 11:52

When DS2 was three he slept 8.00pm-7.30am (only waking because I had to get him up for nursery) - weekends sleeping until 8.30am. He was still having 2 hour nap after lunch then (gave up just recently at 3 1/2).

blueshoes · 01/01/2010 18:05

My ds 3.3 has dropped his afternoon nap. He sleeps at total of 10.5-11 hours in a 24 hour period.

ruddynorah · 01/01/2010 18:07

11/12 hrs at night. no nap.

coppertop · 01/01/2010 18:10

Dd sleeps from around 9pm - 7am with no daytime naps.

So around 10hrs out of every 24hrs.

CakeandFineWine · 01/01/2010 18:11

My DD 3.5 goes to bed about 7.20 and on a weekday wake her at 7:30 weekend about 8:30 but no naps anymore

ds is 3 yrs 5 months and seems to only need 10 -10.5 hours sleep a night. No nap.

Stinkyfeet · 01/01/2010 18:29

ilovesprouts · 01/01/2010 18:33

yomellamoHelly · 01/01/2010 18:35

Just turned 3 yo gets about 11.5 hours a night. V light sleep after 10.5 - 11 hours (usually feeding baby sister at this point) but happy to stay in bed / twiddle hair / suck thumb generally. No naps.

playftseforme · 01/01/2010 18:39

dd 3.2 gets about 11 hrs a night, and if not at preschool, will often squeeze in a nap of 1 - 2 hours as well, which doesn't seem to change the amount she sleeps at night

knicknack · 01/01/2010 18:43

ds 3.8 gets around 12 hours a night but will never nap and hasn't done for a very long time!!! sometimes he looks tired and i wonder if he gets enough but judging by his energy levels he must do!!!

KristinaM · 01/01/2010 18:46

ours has just turned 4

hotbot · 01/01/2010 19:14

castille · 01/01/2010 19:23

I have a sloth.

He is 3.5 and sleeps 11 or 12 hours at night and has a 2.5 or 3-hour nap during the day, sometimes more.

MegBusset · 01/01/2010 19:27

DS1 will be three in Feb, sleeps 12-13h at night since dropping his nap. This is often interrupted, sadly, if he loses a toy, has a nightmare or (as happened a few nights back) falls out of bed!

mejon · 01/01/2010 21:02

Thank God I'm not alone... DD 3.4 sleeps 10 to 10.5 hours a night regardless of bedtime and no daytime naps, though we had only 9 hours earlier this week.

YourCallIsImportant · 01/01/2010 21:08

DS is asleep by 8pm and wakes about 6.30am. If he stays up late at the weekend or on special nights, he still wakes at 6.30. He has no day time naps because if he did, he'd still be awake at 11pm.

SazzlesOnASled · 01/01/2010 21:09

DD 3.1 - usually 12 hrs at night and 1-2hrs after lunch

Over christmas she has slept up to 13hrs due to so much excitement

ShinyAndNew · 01/01/2010 21:16

Very little atm. She is nightmare. She finally gives up and falls asleep anywhere between 10:30pm and 1am. Though it is often around midnight.

She then, without fail, wakes at around 3am and crawls into out bed for a noisy, restless sleep.

She gets back up at 8:30am (ish), when she notices I am up.

She refuses to nap, and screams the house if you dare to suggest that she should. On the occassions that she falls asleep in her buggy, if you don't wake her immediately, she is up all night long.

eggandsoldiers · 01/01/2010 21:17

12 to 13 hours, she has always been a big snoozer.
