BF to sleep - want reassurance

I breastfeed my ds (almost 3 months) to sleep every night. All the baby books say that this is a 'bad habit' but it seems natural to me that a tired baby would fall asleep at the breast and I have no desire to wake him up in order to put him to sleep again. Also I enjoy it (but expecting to bf only to about 7 months or so, so won't be doing it for ever).

For his frequent daytime naps, when he gets grumpy I go into his room and cuddle him and he sucks on my finger so he's asleep when I put him down.

He sleeps pretty well at night for his age and is generally a pretty easy-going, chilled-out baby. I just want reassurance that what I'm doing is ok!

Oh heavens, yes, absolutely! If you've found something that works, don't mess with it! I bf DD to sleep until she was about 5m old when it suddenly stopped working I can now mostly put her down awake though and she settles herself no problem - she's 8m. So don't take any notice of those rod for your own back comments. Getting her to stay asleep hasn't been so easy but that's another story ...

i do this too and it's fine. did with DD too. it's lovely and natural.
try reading 'the food of love' by kate somebody for lovely reassurance about this sort of thing!

I wish my dd would feed to sleep! I think you need to do what works for you now.

What could possibly be wrong with it. Its precious baby bonding time. Enjoy it while you can.

I feed to sleep and on and off have stopped and made baby learn on his own (he settles no prob at night alone in bed - no crying but insists on feeding to sleep for naps).

ENjoy it and don't worry. I have been inconsistent and wish I had just done it without troubling myself!

Well done
