Is it possible 8mo is giving up morning nap??

For the past few weeks, he's only been napping 20-30 minutes, very occasionally an hour. He was waking at 6-6.30am, having a morning nap at 9am (fell asleep no problem, just woke up after half an hour).

Today he woke up at 7, I tried to put him down for a nap every quarter of an hour or so from about 9.15 (he was rubbing his eyes, seemed tired), but he wasn't having it - crying, arching back, the works.

He seemed so distressed that I fed (bf) him at 10.00 and he fell asleep. I put him in the cot, and he woke up again 20 minutes later!

Should I just give up with this and try doing one long sleep at 11am or something? It seems so early to be doing this (ds1 did it at 14 months) but maybe he would then do one long sleep...?

What do you think?!

My 8mo ds's naps are a bit all over the place - sometimes he sleeps for over an hour at both/either naps and other times he just goes for about 30mins or so at each nap. I'm assuming this is par for the course with all the things going on with him developmentally (including teething).

This is really interesting. My ds2 will be 8 months soon and he's a bit all over the place too. Today, for example, he woke up at 6.30am, napped for about half an hour at 11am and is still awake. My ds1 at this age had 2 naps roughly the same time each day and for the same length of time.
