we are on a 2 month long visit to see grandparents etc and dd1 and dd2 dont let each other sleep. neither of them let me out of their sight, i can understand that its a new environment for both of them but its been friggin' 3 weeks already and they should have gotten used to being around other people.

so, if i go into my room to try and put dd2 down for a nap, dd1 appears and then dd2 becomes excited and so on and so forth.

i have turned into an exhausted shrieking mother. am at it the whole day long. any advice would be helpful.

We have just the one DC, but had the same 2 month long visit to grandparents and the first 3 weeks were hellish. He just did not sleep, and my parents were not helping by barging in in the middle of the night when he was crying and trying to take him out to play "until he is tired"?! Nightmare. If it helps, 3 weeks was the peak of hell and then it got better. Somehow, some way you need to deploy the GPs to distract the toddler while you deal with the baby!

For the first month of our trip I was desperate to get home, and then things got so much better and I was so sad to leave because the second month was so lovely. Hope it is the same for you.
