yes that is definately the best thing. Getting to read with the light on (not the sex my DH was hoping for )

those darn mobile buddies.. bet GF made them..

It isnt a bad thing she'll sleep on her own though, but i think i'd feel similar to you and find it a wrench. Am lucky to have a snuggly one.

DD was 5 days old. Now almost 2 and has always happily slept on her own wherever we have gone with her (staying with friends and relatives). None of us sleep well if we are all together.

squiglet - she is snuggly during the day. Hardly wants to be put down. I have to use a a sling a lot and getting her to nap is a nightmare. Strange that she is better being on her own when it is dark and quiet. As I said I am a keen proponent of continuum style parenting and was led to believe babies love sleeping next to their mummy

maybe she get her snuggle quota in the day mine wouldnt go in a sling really wanted him too as well. Love continium ideals too.

I'm off to bed. Will enjoy my book but not waking every two hours to check she is okay!

Maybe there is a 'snuggle quota'

The key to successful parenting - The Snuggle Quota

Alfie Kohn watch out!

lol I like that theory- optimum snuggle quotas. Really though, if you are following your baby's cues, and sleeping so well on her own must I guess be one, then you are stivking to your ideals, so to speak.

I love slings, too. When we arrive somewhere, DD2 gets out of the sling to play, whereas if she's been in the buggy she wants a cuddle when she gets out.

Here's hoping for good nights sleep!

Squiglet · 30/09/2009 22:40

I have sling envy.. Hope you get a good nights sleep. I really should go soon too but i'm crap and stay up too late.

I think we have stumbled across the whole issue in parenting... does that mean we can be gurus THe snuggle quotant gurus. Bet there is an equation for it.
