11 month old sreaming awake, is it night terrors?Has any one else suffered this?

My 11 month old had started scream at night, I comfort her trying to keep her in her cot, but she get hysterical no matter what I do. When/if she finally settles again she wakes ten mins later and I have to settle her again, and so it goes on for most of the night. I haven't slept more than an hour for 10 days - and now she's scared of her cot. I try playing with her in it and so forth to make it fun and she has a bed toy which she ignores, her glowing musical box upsets her and makes her frantic, please, what can I do, has this happened to you?

Blimey poor her, poor you! Something like this did happen to us when my DS was 18 months old, and we did one of two things:
1- brought him into bed with us, not ideal (we'd never been willing co-sleepers but it shut him up!)
2- when we'd had enough of that, went for quite a ruthless in/ up/ cuddle/ back to bed routine. Really awful for a few nights hearing him howl, but it seemed to work, he stopped doing it once he realised we weren't going to go in every time. Earplugs were in play.

But you have to have the stomach for it. He's now, by way of inspiration, a really happy through the night sleeper, I think it's a phase they need to go through.

Is she teething? About to start walking?

Maybe,but her gums seem ok, she's just started crawling and waling around a few bits of furniture. I have decided we're going to have to try gentle controlled crying, nothing else left and everyone seems to recommend it.
