Waitinggirl - try Andrea Grace - google her sorry don't have her website handy- she gives a telephone consulation or someone else on Mumsnet recommended Milpond - good luck.

We used Millpond, cannot recommend enough. DS (now 13 months) is a fab sleeper, and has been for the last 6 months. Before that (pre-Millpond) he used to wake every 45 minutes all night.... It wasn't rocket science but just such a relief in our sleep deprived state to have someone take it all out of our hands, all we had to do was follow their advice to the letter, no thought required.

thanks, broms and flapjakfairy - FJF, can i ask, did you have someone come in from millpond or just follow a written/discussed plan?

i also suspect it isn't rocket science, but just don't know if we can do it in our sleep addled state. it is now 2 hours since dd last woke up - she's been asleep for the last hour, but i am now suffering from insomnia which adds insult to injury. my main battle is now with myself to make sure i don't wind myself up into a frenzy.

Can I ask if Millpond just reccomends controlled crying or other methods?

Thanks

row78 - not at all - they work very closely with you and what they recommend is very much dictated by how gentle or hardline you want to be (though I get the impression their ethos is to err on the gentle side). We are 3 weeks into a sleep plan that they put together for us and it has been very useful so far - as others have said, it's not rocket science, but they are very good at tailoring plans to each individual case, rather than just suggesting a catch-all solution.

I am in the same state with my 11 month old, who is screaming on and off all night, I have rung the natural sleep clinic and if we have another night like last night, will be paying them £280 tomorrow to save my sanity.

Waitinggirl - we used Naturally Nurturing for DS1 - they come to visit you and are on the end of a phone through out. Chireal was lovely and very calm and it really helped us sort out DS1's sleeping. Other friends used Millpond and were happy with them. Have also heard good things about Andrea Grace.

Minicooper · 09/09/2009 19:35

We used Andrea Grace - she's based in North London and will come to your house if you're that local. She is lovely - reassuring and non-judgemental. Her website is thorough and gives you an idea of cost. I wasn't keen on doing controlled crying and she put together a package I was comfortable with. It worked literally over one night. We are now expecting baby no 2 - if we hadn't seen Andrea, dd would have been an only. Seriously! I can't recommend her highly enough.

AlexNiko · 20/05/2012 22:46

hi all, what would you recommend for 9 month old baby sleep training - millpond or Naturally Nurturing ?
My baby wakes uo every 40 minutes during the night and falls asleeponly if rocked. Sometimes I need to rock her 40 minutes in order for her to fall asleep:(((( We desperately need someone to help u with her sleep...
