Should I add 10.30 dream feed to 11 wk old's sleep routine?

Our 11 week old has been sleeping pretty well at night since around 5 weeks. Most nights she goes down around 7.30, wakes around 2.00 for a feed and then again around 5.30 and often goes down again for an hour or so till 6.30/7.00. If I add a 10.30 dream feed, is she more likely to start sleeping straight through to the morning sooner, and will it be easier to then drop that dream feed eventually? Most of 'the books' seem to recommend this, but I'm not sure if I should disrupt what seems to be working quite well already. I'll be going back to work in September, though, and am happy to do anything that makes it more likely that she'll be sleeping through by then.

I introduced one about a week ago and DS has dropped his 2ish feed and goes till around 5 now which is much more doable imo!

We found the dream feed at 11pm made absolutely no difference, he still woke at 2pm hungry!

Try it for a week and see, some babies drop the 2am wake up, others just say thank you and still wake and expect to eat at 2 & 5

Thanks everyone. I think I'll give it a go and see how madam takes to it!

I found it worked with DS

It did not work with DD.

I would give it a go for a couple of nights and see what happens. It didn't help any of my 3 though! DS is now 11 weeks too, a couple of weeks ago he was doing similar to your lo, going 7.30 to 2am to 5.30 then morning. I was knackered and tried introducing the 10.30 feed, I did it for about 10 days and he initially went 10.30 to 3.30 / 4am then to morning, but after a few days it started slipping back until he was waking at 2am again which was utterly pointless as it was the same as when I fed him at 7.30pm and left him. So I stopped it and bizarrely he then slept through to 5am and then the next night to 6.20am (which sadly hasn't been repeated, it is now generally around 4 /5am then through to morning). It's just weird how the 10.30pm feed actually seemed to make his sleep worse!

I think that most babies naturally have one longer period of sleep in a 24 hr period. For all mine that has been from 7pm and eventually has extended out to morning. If I disturbed them during that period of long sleep they just seemed to revert to their day time schedule of 3 hourly feeds from then on, so the 10.30pm feed was no help to me at all.
