my ds1 slept in a 1 tog sleeping bag

mad4myboys · 01/06/2009 20:07

you mean pjs?

Monkeyandbooba · 01/06/2009 20:09

Yes whatever they sleep in so pjs/vest/blanket/grobag?

DS is struggling to get to sleep because it's hot so trying to decide what layers would be best

he had a vest (short sleeved) and a 1 tog baby gro. They are very 'cocooned' in an amby (great though!) although there is room for air to 'flow' through it. What about getting a fan? My 3 year old has to have fan and my 6 month old only sleeps in a baby gro (no vest) no covers, no bag as he is so hot already! Will be getting fan for his room too

Monkeyandbooba · 01/06/2009 20:16

Put a fan in there tonight, when I picked him up he was very sweaty on his back. Only in pjs, when i go to bed I'll pop a blanket over him. He's always been a 'hot' baby! Problem is he doesn't like to sleep without clothes on his top and bottom - think he feels a bit insecure.

yeah my 2 ds are exactly the same! Even in the car with the A/C on! could you put him in just a nappy and a 1 tog sleeping bag? He would still be 'covered' how old is he?

Kerrymate · 01/06/2009 20:18

I was wondering the same tonight - but have put babygro and sleeping bag - she is asleep but Im still worried that it's too hot!

Monkeyandbooba · 01/06/2009 20:19

He's 7mths, I did think about a 1 tog sleeping bag. Have only got the winter weight ones which are far too warm right now.

DD is sleeping like a star fish in a nightie on her bed

1 tog bags are fab. Equivalent of sleeping with just a sheet, so enough to feel covered and comfy but not hot

Monkeyandbooba · 01/06/2009 20:20

As an aside I shall be sad when he grows out of the Amby, he looks so sweet in it

He is 22lbs and long so will either need to get a new spring or settle him in a cot soon.

my ds1 grew out of it by 4 months! He wanted to move around! Even now at nearly 3 he sleeps across his bed!

IlanaK · 01/06/2009 20:24

My ten month old is currently asleep in his Amby is a shortsleeved vest and a 0.5 tog sleeping bag. We also have a ceiling fan on in his room. Keep in mind that the mattresses in the Amby are made of foam which does make them hot.

mad4myboys · 01/06/2009 21:43

thanks, started buying mine off ebay as £30 is loads!! have to keep looking

MrsMotMot · 03/06/2009 08:51

Pfff not hot enough to cause us problems up here in Scotland! But when we went on holiday we took the Amby and DS slept in a short sleeved vest (that poppered under the bum) and a flanelette sheet, and he was fine. (It was tropical.)

I was going to get a low tog bag but decided it wasn't worth the cost when I'd be unlikely to need it again- they are pricey!

mad4myboys · 03/06/2009 19:28

go on ebay!!

wellbalanced · 04/06/2009 08:56

I put my little boy in just a vest at night, cover with his blankie (comforter) if needed.
I may have to go back to swaddling thou as he is sleeping a 5hr block then up every half hour/hourly because light!!! He's 7 weeks.
