seems to still need nap as always 2 hours and enjoys it..so not really wanting to drop it as 2 hours seems a lot

but starting to be more into eve

3:30 to 5:30 eg

so bed time at least 8:30 as needs to get tired again

what would you do? have similar experience?

just curious...not worried

hmm... my 23 mth old still needs a nap too, but I'm trying to make it slightly shorter as at the moment she sleeps from about 2-4pm but is a nightmare to get to bed. So I'm waking her at 330pm as from this week as am sick of going up and down the blimmin' stairs trying to settle her! Sometimes she'll need a nap at around 1230 or 1pm and even then I'll let her nap till 330. I think, with my child anyway, it's more the lateness of the nap than the time it lasts. Often if she has an early nap she will wake naturally before the 'time-limit'.

I would try to put down for nap a bit earlier (after lunch?) and set yourself a time to NOT let him/her sleep after. Otherwise you will lose your evening.

Have only just reduced my 21 m.o.'s nap from 2 hours to 1.5 hours .... she loved her 2 hour nap, and I always had to wake her up at the end of it, but she was taking longer to get to sleep at night and waking earlier than usual in the mornings .... reducing nap seems to have cracked that. She naps from 1.15 to 2.45 ....... and now no problems getting her to sleep in evening at 6.45PM (and she gets up at 7am). God sounds awfully regimented, but she seems to thrive on this routine ..........
