stupid question - do you use quilt on own or with sheet underneath

little one too big for grobag even though under 2 and is in a 3 year old grobag

so bought a quilt -washable

not found duvet with covers yet

do you just use quilt on its own? then wash once a week? or more? or less?

seemed veyr hot in 4 tog quilt thought last night as first trialhelkpo completely clueless

really am useless here but mumsnet does help and i know i have been critised before but am all alone here in uk with no famaily around with no other kids in family so am really clueless

I used a sheet and blanket when DD1 grew out of grobag, with just a sheet in the summer.
DD2 has a quilt over her now but it is a very thin baby quilt and I sewed some thin cotton into a cover so I don't ahve to wash it unless she pukes on it!
