somebody tell me how to make ds sleep in his cot!

ds used to be a really good sleeper, he still sleeps through the night, but only in my bed. Most nights he just refuses to go to sleep in his cot, screaming for hours until I give in, and the nights that he does go to sleep he wakes up just as I go to bed and wont stop until I take him in with me.

It's getting a bit ridiculous, I can't get anything done in the evening. I can't think what to try but I have to do something, I need my evenings back.

Have you tried putting one of your PJ's in the cot with your smell on.... someone suggested to and and it worked? Hope other people come up with some advise as well

already tried that, he has one of my old pj tops in there.

He went through this phase once before but after one night of me refusing to give in he was back to normal, doesn't look like it's going to be so easy this time!

try the worn t shirt, pj trick, particularly one that smells of milk. also lie him on his side with his little arms wrapped around the said item of clothing.

swaddling is also quite good, maybe he feels a bit exposed?

is he in his own room? sometimes they sleep better as no disturbances when you go in

will try putting him on his side, when he's in my bed he sleeps on his side with his head on my arm. oh he's so cute, why do I want him out of my bed?

co sleeping is adorable and gorgeous, but it does get on top of you lack-of-sleep wise after a while

my dd2 sleeps on her front! she loves it. shes 6 mths

ds is gorgeous, last night he woke me up by rolling from his side of the bed where I'd pushed him when he fell asleep, over to my side and hitting my arm until I put it under his head. Then he put his thumb in his mouth and went back to sleep! so so cute! I love co-sleeping and if he would sleep in my bed without me there I wouldn't mind at all, it's just the hours of crying until I go to bed that bother me.

ds sleeps on his front during the day but he's in a grobag and it seems to bunch up around his face if he's on his tum. I'm too scared to change him to sheets and blankets in case I never get him to sleep again.

I can't believe your dd is 6 months already! I remember when we were trying to organise that meet-up she was only a couple of weeks old.

beansmum, please dont get too worried about all this. one night he will decide that he can do this himself. they change all the time, when he settles down with this itll be something else. and dont worry about giving in at times - they are not little for long so make the most of it

dd2 is getting so big, sitting up on her own, laughing, i want another tiny baby again already!
