Rotating baby - will a cot bumper help?

Three nights in a row now, DD has rotated herself as close to 90 degrees as she can get in her cot, then banged her head on the bars and woken herself up

I'm wondering if a cot bumper will help, or at least give her a softer landing, but think I've heard that they're not really advised.

Any advice? DD is nearly 24 weeks if that makes a difference.

My 22 week old gilr is doing this too. Every night she is rolling herself around until she ends up wedged the wrng way around. I am sure her constant moving is what has led to her recent increased waking (along with teeth etc etc!)

Had resisted getting a bumper as had read somewhere about links to SIDs but havig read the above I may re-think.

I lay her down on her side when she first goes to bed and for as long as she stays like that she sleeps soundly. ,I put a rolled up towel behind her. The idea of towels under the sheet is a good one. Her matress is already raised at one end. Doesn't seem to stop her!!

I am so glad there are others out there with this! I am at my wits end with my 7.5 month old girl - she is all over the cot at night - ironically she has never rolled over! Last night I had to get up 5 times to unwedge her from the bars - she has marks on her head and keeps getting her feet stuck as she goes horizontal - she is very tall. Am off to buy an airwrap bumper
