Sleeping pills for breastfeeding mums

Hi,

Does anyone know of any sleep medication that is safe for breastfeeding mums?

I've been having a terrible time getting back to sleep after waking up in the middle of the night to feed or pacify my 5-month old daughter. Even when she sleeps through the night, I wake up automatically at around 2am, and cannot get back to sleep until it's nearly time to wake up again!

Worse is that the more tired I am, the more difficult it is for me to get to sleep -- it's like my mind won't stop buzzing.

The sleep deprivation is killing me and I am so exhausted during the day I can barely take care of my daughter. I asked my GP about taking sleeping pills but he said nothing was safe.

Please help! I'm on the verge of a nervous breakdown... :-(

temazepam is ok - take a small dose only, start with 5mg maybe, and take after her last feed. try and leave 8 hours before she is fed again.

print this out and show your gp?
