does he have a nightlight? I seem to recall my DS1 went through a funny stage around that age and we (after leaving the door ajar to let light in in the meantime) got him a night light.

With the early rising we just told him he had to stay in his room until it was light. Although he started going downstairs and switching the TV on - we'd leave it on a children's channel so that all he had to do was switch it on (of course as he got older he'd just change the channel himself)

bless you FAQ(your only after my baccy!).
yes he has a nightlight and a brighter bedside light he can reach if he needs it.

id not mind early rising if he didnt wake his sister and brother to play 'NOW'!

CS have you tried one of those bunny clocks? You set it to the time you want him to get up and then bunny wakes up. If bunny is awake he can get up. If bunny is asleep he can't.
