DS has started waking very early each day, about 5 am and is hungry. I found that a 10pm dream feed used to work to tank him up til about half 6, 7 o'clock. But i dropped it some time ago.

Is it worth bringing it back, do you think?

I can see a habit is developing as well here so I'm keen to do something about it!! Any suggestions??

What time does he have tea?

Mine started having supper at that age - a bowl of cereal, or a slice of toast - because it seemed a long time to go from 5pm tea to 7am even with a bedtime bottle.

(they are 9 and 6 now and still have 'breakfast' before teeth and bed)

he has tea at 5, then a bottle (about 6oz) at 7pm. Hes never really that interested in that, though.

My 11 month old is never interested in his evening bottle and barely has a mouthful of it.
I've just started giving him a weetabix mixed with milk just before bed instead and he eats the lot!
Might be worth a try!

what does he have for tea / supper?
The same thing was happening with my DD (when she was slightly younger than your DS) until I gave her pasta at 5pm and that seemed to fill her up more.

Hmm. it really depends on how much he's had for lunch. if he's had a nice bit of stew then I'll give him cheese/beans on toast, followed by a yogurt or some fruit. But tonight he had a big bowl of stew ( I pulsed it out of desperation because I could see he was too tired to bother chewing large chunks of meat and I wanted him to eat as much as poss) then he had an ambrosia custard pot, then at 7pm a yogurt with calpol hidden in it (he's teething) and then 4oz milk...!!!
God that sounds loads!!!!
